
Feb 2017: Community entry activity (Durbar) held at Agbogbloshie (Accra, Ghana) which officially launches the field epidemiology component of this study. Approximately 60 people from the community joined us for a 2 hr session in which we introduced the project and fielded questions. We were graced with the presence of local Chiefs, Imams, and key Government representatives (e.g., from Ghana Health Service, Ministry of Youth and Sports). Click here for a write up of the event.

August 2016: Planning meeting on Aug 18-19 in Ann Arbor (Michigan, USA) brings together key team members to flesh out details concerning the research study. Participants include Tom Robins, Julius Fobil, Nil Basu, Marius Kedote, Stuart Batterman, Gloria Mason, Michelle Heacock, and Zoey Laskaris.

June 2016: Annual team meeting held in Ouidah (Benin) on June 28 and 29 at the Institut régional de santé publique (Regional Public Health Institute). Group photo to the right.

May 2016: Annual GEOHealth meeting at the Fogarty International Center's headquarters at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. At this meeting of grantees, teams provide updates and network with other researchers and programmatic staff. Here is a picture of Julius with our team's poster.
